The Compact Design Femco drain plug (CD) has been developed for situations where the access is poor. They maybe also be used where the site of the drain
plug is at risk of damage by external means.
The Standard Series is divided up into 2 sub groups :-
- Small Bottom (SB) which has a thread size range from M12 - M22, 1/2” - 7/8”
- Large Bottom (LB) which has a thread size range from M12 - M50, 1/2” - 2”
The operation of the CD drain plug is the same as with the Standard Design, but using the distinct CD drain hose.
The Compact Design is used

50 mm is all that is required for a Compact Design Femco Drain Plug |
in the rail industry where ballast strikes are regular. Special streamlined plastic dust caps are available if required. The CD drain plugs are also used in many other
applications where access is restricted, as it only needs 50 mm between the plug sealing face and any obstruction. In these cases, a 90 degree right angled draining hose would be used. |
